Run, Bus... Run!

A Family Bus Conversion Adventure

Welcome to a website about what we did with our bus, and how we did it (for better or worse).  Hopefully our experience can benefit someone else out there trying to do the same darn thing we managed to do.  We're more than happy to share what we learned in the process of doing a (commercial) bus conversion on our own.  Feel free to contact us!

(Please note, this site is a work in progress.  There are many pages that are still blank, but will have content added in due time. Thanks!  :-)

Some Background

After watching one too many YouTube videos one day of other folks that had done the same (mostly without children, and the majority with school buses, or "skoolies"), we decided to try to make a big change in our lives, and live life on the road for an extended period of time (a year or two) with our family of 7 children (yep, that's not a typo).  So, after what seems like years, we sold the house, put the junk we wanted to keep in a semi-trailer, and managed to stuff everyone as comfortably as possible into a self-converted bus.  Our adventure on the road began in November, 2018, with the goal of seeing as much of America (and maybe parts of Canada and Mexico) as possible, as a family, but without a schedule or specific route (very important).  We hope to work hard, play hard, and build better relationships with each other... and hopefully make some great memories in the process.  :-]

Beyond what has been disclosed above, the public side of this website contains little other personal information about our family, but exists to help others in the same pursuit of doing a bus conversion themselves.  No claim is made that what we did with our bus was the right or best way to do it... but so far what was done... works.  And, time will decide the rest.

Remember this: "You can do anything, if you want to do it bad enough."  I'm not a genius, but have managed to convince myself that I could learn how to do things I had not done before.  This bus conversion was simply one of those things.

(BTW: We're not really a bunch of block heads, but do value our privacy.  Remember, once it's on the Internet, it's on the Internet... forever.  So, please be careful what you post publicly online.)
